The textures were colored with a random color. He implemented trees which are not like the trees in Minecraft. It is one of Notch`s inspirations to create a block-styled game, which later turned into Minecraft. Despite not actually being RubyDung, early pre-classic versions of Minecraft are referred to as "RubyDung" internally. This was before Minecraft had a proper name. RubyDung inspired Notch to make Minecraft when he wanted RubyDung to have a first person view but when he did he thought that the textures were too blurry and distorted. Shortly after Notch`s days coding for RubyDung he came across the game Infiniminer Screenshot of an Infiniminer map. Infiniminer is an open source multi-player block-based sandbox building and digging game, in which the player is a miner searching for minerals by carving tunnels through procedurally generated voxel-based maps minecraft which put down the foundations for Minecraft.

On Oct. 30, 2009, Notch talked about RubyDung on his blog in an entry entitled The Origins of Minecraft.
